Arrival in Lagos, Nigeria

Arrival and picked up by Vincent, initial orientation takes place at your hotel. Overnight in Lagos.

Lagos Exploration

Today's visit begins with a trip to the Venice of Lagos, the Makoko Stealth village, immigrants from Badagry whose major source of livelihood is fishing.

The 78 hectares natural resource Lekki conservation centre. Enjoy a panoramic view of the resource on a canopy walk.

The Lekki arts and crafts market for some take home souvenirs. The Nike Art gallery. Overnight in Lagos.

Abeokuta & Oshogbo

On this day we shall exit Lagos on a 1 and half hour drive to Abeokuta, the capital city of Ogun state. Abeokuta is home to several museums and galleries one of which is the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential library.

Visit to the Olumo rock, which is one of the country's most popular attractions that's directly connected to the history of the Yoruba people. Then proceed to Oshogbo. Overnight in Oshogbo.

Osun Oshogbo & Return to Lagos

Osun Oshogbo shrine and groove a UNESCO world heritage site. This groove is the cradle of the African tradition in the western part of Nigeria for the Yoruba people.

Here you'd see sculptors and art works by a woman called Susanne Wenger, an Austrian with the help of the locals who came to Oshogbo and lived and married a local, depicting different gods and deities.

Visit the abode of Susanne Wenger. Visit the fettish market. Return trip to Lagos and overnight in Lagos.

Balogun Market & Kalakuta Republic

Today's visit is to one of the busiest open markets in Lagos, the Balogun market. It is the hub for wholesale and retail trades around West Africa.

Proceed to the kalakuta republic the abode of the former afrobeat maestro Fela Anikulapo Kuti now turned into a museum. Overnight in Lagos.

Badagry & Crossing to Benin

Today we leave early on a 2 hour drive to Badagry, a historical coastal town which played a significant role in the Transatlantic slave trade era in Nigeria.

Visit the Seriki Abass Williams museum a slave returnee. The first story building. The heritage museum.

Proceed to the Nigeria Benin border for immigration protocols and cross over into the Republic of Benin. Explore the city of Cotonou. Overnight in Ouidah.

Ganvie & Abomey

Ganvie is a floating village which could be likened to the Venice of France with a population of over 30,000 inhabitants, built entirely on stilths in the middle of lake Nokuoe.

A 3 and half hour drive to Abomey for a visit to the kingdom of Abomey to see the old king's palace turned into a museum. Overnight in Ouidah.

Ouidah - Voodoo Capital

Ouidah is the spiritual capital of the voodoo religion in West Africa and also a major slave trading port during the transfer Atlantic slave trade.

Visits today include: The kpasse sacred forest, The cathedral, The temple of the sacred pythons, The point of no return, The slave market. Overnight in Ouidah.

Lome, Togo

Proceed to the Lome Border and assisted through immigrations. After immigration protocols, a tour of Lome and its vicinity which includes:

The Agbodrafo slave house, The independence square, The Akoddesewa fettish market (The African traditional pharmacy), The Grande marche. Overnight in Lome.

Arrival in Accra, Ghana

Leave early for Accra. Arrive Accra and check into your hotel. Overnight in Accra.

A city tour of Accra. Visits include historical landmarks: WEB Dubious centre for Pan African culture, Kwame Nkrumah memorial park, Independence/Black star square, National museum, Osu castle formerly christenbourg. Overnight in Accra.

Leave early for 3 hrs drive to Cape Coast. Visit the cape coast castle. Visit the Elmina castle. Overnight in Elmina.
